Sprinkles of Cesenatico

🏖️ 🇮🇹

First taste of Cesenatico: it will be love at first sight! 😍

Hi lovely people, if you come to Italy you cannot miss Cesenatico, a small town on the Adriatic coast, about one hour’s drive from Bologna.
It is considered one of the pearls of the Romagna Riviera and believe me, it really is.

In every season, this village enchants you; buzzing in the summer and quiet in winter, it has always something magical to offer.

I spent every summer until my 30s at my grandparents’ place in Cesenatico, enjoying the sun, the sand and the sea. I loved it so much that I decided to move there for a while, discovering a new, quiet side of Cesenatico, particularly during the colder months.

What I enjoy most in those months are walks along the deserted beach, where the deafening but meaningful silence harmonizes with the shallow ripple of the waves, delicate as the notes of a sweet song. In those precious moments, I can fully immerse myself into a meditative space and channel my energies into creative thinking. This magical place is reflective of my Madeleine de Proust experience, reminding me  of my childhood when I used to walk on the beach with my beloved grandmother.

What can you see in Cesenatico? Well, just to mention a few hotspots, there are:

  • the canal harbour, designed by Leonardo da Vinci, with its historical boats

  • the sandy beaches, where you can relax or play sports

  • the beautiful beach clubs, ideal for cocktails or dinner by the sea

  • the lighthouse, a beautiful location for a romantic stroll at sunset or a perfect viewing platform to catch sight of the ancient fishing huts on the western side of the pier

Let’s not forget the many restaurants with typical food specialties including seafood and some local pasta dishes. You are spoiled for choice for delicious lunches or dinners in any season.
(I will try some new places this summer! Stay tuned!).
